Adam Yates

Science Director, CRI

Dr. Adam Yates’ research integrates landscape and aquatic sciences to develop and apply environmental assessment approaches with the goal of detailing the effects of landscape patterns on aquatic ecosystem conditions.  He is a leader in the study of the effects of agricultural land use and management practices on aquatic ecological condition with on-going research projects in Southern Ontario and the Red River Valley of Manitoba.  Adam’s interest in landscape scale effects on stream ecosystems has led to him integrating cutting-edge GIS techniques with novel aquatic assessment techniques to provide the knowledge and tools for improved watershed and water management.  Several government agencies within Canada have implemented his widely cited, novel protocols.
