The Government of Canada has created a permanent Canada Research Chair Program. Its goal is to attract and retain highly qualified researchers whose aim is to achieve research excellence. The Canadian Rivers Institute is home to 8 Canada Research Chairs.

Professor at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). Research focuses on investigating the impact of pulse exposure of aquatic organisms to toxicants and developing "real-time" sensors to detect the presence of contaminants, such as pathogens, in water.
