Posted by CRI Programs   |   March 10, 2017

Collaboration for Atlantic Salmon Tomorrow (CAST) project is seeking motivated and independent students to work in salmon research projects in the summer 2017.

The project will involve both field and office work. Field work will involve collecting sonar data with ARIS imaging sonars, deploying temperature loggers, aiding in the acquisition of hemispherical canopy photography, and tracking fish movements using radio and PIT telemetry. Office work will include data management and analysis, working with ArcGIS, and analyzing sonar videos for count and size of fish. Work will be mostly based within the Miramichi watershed.

3–4 -months employment, starting in May 2017. Interested students are asked to submit a short cover letter indicating why they are interested, resume, indicate their cumulative GPA, and have contact to at least two professional references.

Deadline for applications is March 26. Successful applicants will be contacted in the first week of April.
