Susan Farquharson Receives CRI Honorary Membership Award
Dr. Allen Curry and Dr. Karen Kidd recently presented Susan Farquharson with a CRI Honorary Member award.
Sue was the Executive Director of CRI from 2010 to 2013 and was instrumental in the restructuring of the Institute and its new model. In her role she led the extensive consultations of stakeholders and members that was needed to determine an appropriate model and was key in developing the model and its supporting documents (i.e. constitution, financial agreements, network member agreements, budget projections). She sat on several committees as the CRI representative (HydroNet Management Board, and coordinated several large CRI projects (Saint John Harbour Environmental Monitoring Partnership, Northumberland Strait Environmental Monitoring Partnership). Sue worked tirelessly to promote the CRI at public events such as CRI Days and to find funds to support CRI operations, facilitated numerous committee meetings for various programs within CRI (e.g. Hynes Scholarship; NSERC CREATE grant), and was key in producing annual and financial reports. Her communications kept all members up to date on CRI activities, and she coordinated the new and much improved CRI website. In summary, Sue has been a fantastic member of the CRI family and we would not be where we are today without her commitment, enthusiasm and bottomless energy.
