Biological Limnology – Post-Doctoral, PhD, or MSc Opportunity (Beginning Summer 2014)
We are seeking 1-2 candidates to lead or participate in two studies of lakes and reservoirs in New Brunswick, Canada. The two issues we are addressing are: modelling the potential effects of a large reservoir drawdown in a dam removal scenario; and an emerging blue-green algae problem in lakes and water supplies across the province. Both projects require a candidate with strong backgrounds and/or interests in the plankton community structure and dynamics of lakes and managed reservoirs, physical and chemical limnology, statistical and/or numerical modelling, and lake and reservoir management. The studies are ongoing components of the Mactaquac Aquatic Ecosystem Study at the Canadian Rivers Institute at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. This is a fully funded opportunity that can begin immediately in the summer of 2014.
